Liberty Christian dominates Parish in Top 10 State Ranked Battle

Crews Messer’s 4 touchdown passes helped guide Liberty Christian to a resounding win over the defending TAPPS Division I champions.

ARGYLE — Argyle Liberty Christian rolled to a dominant 55-7 victory over Parish Episcopal on Friday night, fueled by a high-efficiency offensive performance and a suffocating ground game.

Quarterback Crews Messer led the aerial assault for Liberty Christian (5-2, 3-0 TAPPS I-D1), completing 12 of 15 passes for 239 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Correll Buckhalter Jr. spearheaded the Warriors’ rushing attack with 158 yards and two touchdowns on just 16 carries, averaging an explosive 9.88 yards per rush, while also hauling in three catches for 29 yards and another score.

The Warriors spread the wealth through the air, highlighted by Jace Johnson, who caught three passes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Cooper Witten and Cash McCoart also added touchdown receptions in the rout.

Parish Episcopal managed 298 total yards of offense, paced by quarterback Logan Lucero, who threw for 142 yards on 9-of-19 passing, and running back Jaxon McKinney, who contributed 63 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries alongside two receptions. However, the Panthers were hampered by two turnovers and a tough defensive night against a relentless Liberty Christian squad that built a 35-7 halftime lead and never looked back.
