UPDATE: 2025 UIL Enrollment Numbers for DCFB Schools

Every two years, we enter in a cycle of realignment in both UIL and TAPPS. To lead off the UIL timeline, we get what is called Snapshot Day where schools provide enrollment figures so the UIL can begin sorting them into appropriate classifications come February.

As is the case each year, schools can petition to drop down if they move up in class or can opt up if they don’t want to stay low or have been dropped down.

Last Update: 5:30 pm December 10.

For Reference

Here are the Conference Cutoffs that helped shaped the most recent cycle in 2024.

6A: 2,275 and above
5A: 1,315 – 2274
4A: 545 – 1,314
3A: 254 – 544
2A: 105 – 253
1A: 104.9 and below

According to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football #TXHSFB insider, Matt Stepp, there is a belief that cutoff numbers will be lowered as the shift in population continues as well as the proliferation of public charter schools as options for students continue to enter the mix.

The biggest changes from the 2022 cycle to 2024 cycle were the move up for Northwest from 5A to 6A, The Colony down from 5A DI to 5A DII and Lake Dallas from 5A DII to 4A DI.

Mock Realignment Reports

While we don’t delve into mock realignments, we can report on what has been suggested by other entities. Stepp has these scenarios involving our area teams.

4-6A: No change from the last realignment cycle with Byron Nelson and Northwest staying with Euless Trinity, Hurst Bell, Keller, Timber Creek, Central, Eaton and Southlake Carroll.

5-6A: The only change is the drop of Little Elm from this group that keeps Lewisville, Hebron, Flower Mound, Marcus, Braswell, Guyer and Coppell together.

6-6A: Little Elm moves over to this district that will feature the new-to-6A school Wakeland along that could also feature Prosper, Rock Hill, Walnut Grove, McKinney Boyd and McKinney.

4-5A DI: A good chunk of the 3-5A DI teams stay together with Denton, Ryan, Azle, Fossil Ridge, Brewer, Richland and Birdville while also adding in Burleson Centennial and Cleburne.

5-5A DI: Reedy, Lone Star remain in this district along with Lebanon Trail, Centennial and Sherman while also bringing in juggernauts Melissa and Highland Park. Frisco is expected to drop to 5A DII.

6-5A DI: Creekview sticks with the other CFBISD and Dallas ISD schools from the previous cycle while also adding Mesquite, which is projected to drop to 5A.

4-5A DII: The Colony sticks with Grapevine, Colleyville Heritage but then is joined with some Frisco ISD schools like Liberty, Emerson, Independence, Frisco, Memorial and then Panther Creek makes the jump from 4A DI to 5A DII.

6-5A DII: Argyle and Prosper Richland are grouped together along with McKinney North, Anna, Lovejoy, Nevada Community, Celina and Denison.
