Week 9 Thursday Night Recap

There’s a lot to cover on a busy and very interesting Thursday night in Week 9.

Lewisville Ekes Out Triple OT Win

A week after falling for the first time this year, Lewisville nearly suffered its second straight loss as it was in an overtime dogfight with Hebron, winning 45-43.

This game had a lot of playoff implications as Lewisville keeps pace a game behind Guyer and tied with Coppell at the top of the district while Hebron is now in a three-way tie with Marcus and Braswell.

Braswell Nearly Did It

Coppell – without its starting QB – managed to surge past Braswell late with a 25-21 win on the road as Braswell was looking for the upset of the district year.

Braswell didn’t lose any ground in the hunt for the fourth playoff spot but is now in a three-way tie.

Guyer Rolls in the 2nd Half…Again

It was a rough offensive start to the night for Guyer but it was able to get things in gear in the second half on the way to a 29-0 over Little Elm after only leading 3-0 at the half.

Creekview Can’t Hang with West Mesquite

A 29-point first quarter was more than enough for West Mesquite as it rolled to a 32-point win over Creekview and ended its perfect season.

Creekview is off next week and will have a shot at – most likely – the No. 2 seed as it meets Carrollton Smith.

Aubrey Takes Down Lake Dallas

In a matchup for two teams on the outside looking in for the 4th playoff spot in 7-4A DI, Aubrey was able to control Lake Dallas’ offense all night and got just enough from its own offense on the way to a 14-11 win on the road.

It moves it into a tie with Paris, though Paris owns the tie-breaker.

Pilot Point Starts Hot, Can’t Stop Pottsboro

The Bearcats got out to a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter, but the offense sputtered the rest of the game and the defense couldn’t contain Pottsboro from scoring 28 straight on the way to a 35-14 decision, which drops Pilot Point into a tie for second with Whitesboro.

Krum Dismantles Gainesville, 54-20

Ponder Keeps Close But Falls to Peaster, 24-8

Ryan Shrugs Off Denton, 38-14

Argyle Has No Trouble with Burleson, 41-7

Marcus Takes The Mound Showdown, 32-14

Reedy Breezes Past Heritage, 45-13
